Description
A refreshing and elegant twist on the classic Moscow Mule, this Champagne Moscow Mule combines vodka, ginger, lime, and simple syrup with bubbly champagne for a sophisticated and sparkling cocktail perfect for any celebratory occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
Liquids
- 1 ounce Vodka (chilled)
- 4-6 ounces Champagne or sparkling wine
- 1 ounce Simple syrup
- Juice of half a lime
Flavorings and Garnishes
- 1 teaspoon Ginger (finely grated peeled)
- Ice
- Lime wedge for garnish
- Mint sprig for garnish
Instructions
- Mix Ingredients: Combine chilled vodka, simple syrup, finely grated ginger, and fresh lime juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosty, ensuring all the flavors meld together and the mixture is well chilled.
- Strain and Top: Strain the mixture into a preferred glass, ideally a copper mug for that traditional Moscow Mule presentation. Carefully top the cocktail with 4-6 ounces of chilled champagne or sparkling wine to add effervescence.
- Garnish: Garnish the drink with a wedge of lime and a fresh mint sprig on a skewer, enhancing its aroma and visual appeal.
Notes
- Use a copper mug for the most authentic Moscow Mule experience as it helps keep the drink colder for longer.
- Adjust the amount of champagne according to taste; more for a lighter, bubblier drink, less for a stronger cocktail.
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of grated ginger slightly.
- Simple syrup can be homemade by dissolving equal parts sugar in warm water and cooling it before use.
- Make sure all ingredients are chilled beforehand to keep the cocktail refreshingly cool without needing excess ice.
