Description

A refreshing and elegant twist on the classic Moscow Mule, this Champagne Moscow Mule combines vodka, ginger, lime, and simple syrup with bubbly champagne for a sophisticated and sparkling cocktail perfect for any celebratory occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquids

  • 1 ounce Vodka (chilled)
  • 4-6 ounces Champagne or sparkling wine
  • 1 ounce Simple syrup
  • Juice of half a lime

Flavorings and Garnishes

  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (finely grated peeled)
  • Ice
  • Lime wedge for garnish
  • Mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: Combine chilled vodka, simple syrup, finely grated ginger, and fresh lime juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosty, ensuring all the flavors meld together and the mixture is well chilled.
  2. Strain and Top: Strain the mixture into a preferred glass, ideally a copper mug for that traditional Moscow Mule presentation. Carefully top the cocktail with 4-6 ounces of chilled champagne or sparkling wine to add effervescence.
  3. Garnish: Garnish the drink with a wedge of lime and a fresh mint sprig on a skewer, enhancing its aroma and visual appeal.

Notes

  • Use a copper mug for the most authentic Moscow Mule experience as it helps keep the drink colder for longer.
  • Adjust the amount of champagne according to taste; more for a lighter, bubblier drink, less for a stronger cocktail.
  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of grated ginger slightly.
  • Simple syrup can be homemade by dissolving equal parts sugar in warm water and cooling it before use.
  • Make sure all ingredients are chilled beforehand to keep the cocktail refreshingly cool without needing excess ice.
