Instructions
- Crush the Oreos: Place the entire package of Oreos into a food processor and pulse until very fine crumbs form. If no food processor is available, crush Oreos in a sealed bag using a rolling pin until no large chunks remain.
- Combine with Cream Cheese: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a large bowl. Add the softened cream cheese and mix thoroughly with a spatula or clean hands until a uniform, pliable dough forms.
- Add the Grinch Green: Stir in 3-4 drops of green gel food coloring at first. Mix well and add more drops gradually until you get a vibrant green color evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Roll into Balls: Using a small cookie scoop (about 1 tablespoon), portion the dough and roll between your palms to make smooth, round truffle balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill, Chill, Chill: Refrigerate the rolled truffles for 30-60 minutes until firm to the touch, which helps them hold shape during dipping.
- Melt the White Chocolate: Melt white chocolate wafers in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring between intervals until smooth. Optionally add ½ to 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening if the chocolate is too thick for dipping.
- Dip the Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, submerge each chilled truffle fully in the melted white chocolate. Tap off excess chocolate and return the coated truffle to the parchment-lined sheet.
- Add the Heart: While the chocolate coating is still wet, gently press one red heart sprinkle or a small red candy melt heart onto the side of each truffle.
- Chill to Set: Place the decorated truffles back into the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to allow the white chocolate shell to fully set and harden.
