Description

These Mini Garlic Monkey Breads are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or side dish featuring soft dinner rolls coated in a savory garlic butter mixture and baked to golden perfection. Perfect for parties or family dinners, they combine the comforting flavors of garlic, butter, and Parmesan cheese in bite-sized portions.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter Mixture

  • 6 Tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 Tablespoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus 2 Tablespoons for sprinkling)

Main

  • 18 frozen Rhodes dinner rolls, thawed

Instructions

  1. Thaw the Rolls: Thaw the frozen Rhodes dinner rolls according to the package directions to ensure they are soft and ready to use. If Rhodes rolls are not available, canned buttermilk biscuits can be used as a substitute.
  2. Prepare the Rolls: Cut each thawed roll into 4 equal pieces and set them aside for coating.
  3. Prepare the Baking Tin: Spray a 12-cup muffin tin generously with cooking spray to prevent sticking and set it aside.
  4. Make the Garlic Butter Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley flakes, and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Stir well to blend all flavors.
  5. Coat the Roll Pieces: Add 6 pieces of the cut rolls into the garlic butter mixture and toss them thoroughly to ensure each piece is well coated with the garlic butter and cheese.
  6. Fill the Muffin Tin: Place the 6 coated roll pieces into one muffin cup, pressing them down slightly to fit well. Repeat this process for all 12 muffin cups, filling each with 6 coated pieces.
  7. Add Extra Parmesan: Sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of all the rolls in the muffin tin.
  8. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the monkey breads for 12 to 14 minutes or until the rolls turn golden brown on top.
  9. Serve Warm: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these mini garlic monkey breads warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Substitute canned buttermilk biscuits if Rhodes rolls are unavailable.
  • Ensure the rolls are well coated for maximum flavor.
  • Use a 12-cup muffin tin to create perfectly sized mini breads.
  • Serve immediately after baking for optimum softness and taste.
  • These can be reheated briefly in the oven or microwave if needed.
